This is a colorful and expressive Fine Antique Old 19th c. French Impressionist Landscape Oil Painting on canvas, acquired from the collection of an old woman who acquired this painting from a boot sale in the south of France nearly 40 years ago. This work depicts a highly impressionistic village scene, with tall spindly trees, cobblestone streets, and a large planter filled with red roses. Signed illegibly in the lower left corner. Perhaps you recognize the artist or their work? This piece likely dates from the 1890’s – 1920’s. Approximately 14 x 19 1/2 inches including frame. Actual artwork is approximately 10 1/2 x 16 inches. Good condition for age, with some light scuffing to the edges of the canvas, and mild scuffing and edge wear to the original period frame please see photos. Acquired in Los Angeles, California.
